Growing in Africa, trading in Europe
- a logistical tour de force
A well-organised and monitored logistics chain is essential for a supplier that grows in Africa. Through Flamingo we have been operating on the African continent for about 250 years. We know our way around – both literally and figuratively. It also goes without saying that we can tap into the network and contacts that
Flamingo has built up over more than two hundred years.
Once harvested, the products quickly find their way to the packing stations. Step two is efficient transportation to Nairobi Airport. Our regular airfreight partner arranges air-conditioned flights to Europe. So we are able to deliver fresh products at least six days a week. When they arrive at Schiphol, a specialist partner is on hand to take them to Poeldijk by road.
Stored under the right conditions
Products are stored at the right temperature in FV SeleQt’s cold store before being sent out to the larger retailers, wholesalers and foodservice suppliers all over Europe via the Best Fresh Group’s network.
